We chatted to Yoga Junkies co-founder Hannah Wisniewski to find out more:
Congratulations on the launch of Yoga Junkies. Tell us a little bit about what we can expect from your monthly subscription box?
Thank you so much. We are so excited to finally start this new journey!
Each month, our members will receive a stylized box containing yoga lifestyle products from all around the world. The items include a range of yoga equipment, vegan snacks, natural cosmetics, jewellery, and gemstones plus our very own Yoga Junkies magazine. We put a lot of love and hard-work into selecting extraordinary products to provide an amazing experience to our members.
We are currently working on more ways to bring value to our members. Soon they will be able to access free yoga workouts and videos, our online magazine about yoga, meditation, nutrition and living a healthy lifestyle, and the second edition of our e-book.
Our vision is to build a comprehensive online community for everybody who loves the yoga lifestyle.
Where did your passion for Yoga begin, and what were your influences?
I came across yoga through a workout program called P90X, about five years ago. I loved each of the workouts in the program, but it was the yoga one that especially caught my attention. Not only did it challenge me in different ways– targeting small muscles, concentration, balance, coordination – but it also completely transformed the way I felt inside.
A short time after, I decided to take a step outside my home and attend a few yoga classes every now and then. This is when I went from a purely fitness-oriented style of yoga to the more spiritual and meditative side as well.
When did you decide to dedicate yourself to yoga personally and professionally?
I had a fun and successful career in a promotion agency but always had this feeling deep inside me that I needed to search for something more. I had no idea what kind of fulfillment I was searching for, but I just knew that I needed to make a change to find it.
So, last year, I decided to quit my job and begin building my own business. I had no idea what I was going to do at the time, but that didn’t stop me. I just followed my heart and let the rest happen as I went through my days. Then, one night at about 3 a.m., I woke up and had only one thought on my mind – “I have to go to India to learn about yoga”.
One night when I was in India, I finally realized what journey I wanted to begin. My husband Tyler has always loved subscription boxes but always said that the good ones were only in America. As I was thinking about this in India, it became clear that we should combine yoga and subscription boxes to bring a new yoga lifestyle box to the Yoga Junkies of Europe.
How does Yoga help you on a daily basis?
My daily yoga practice has become a major part of my life. It has made an enormous impact on the way I think and feel in everyday life. Completing a flow or holding a challenging pose allows me to forget my surroundings and look deep into myself. Yoga helped me to become more confident and love myself from the inside out. I became stronger not only on the outside but also on the inside.
What if someone may feel intimidated by yoga? How can they overcome this?
I know that seeing pictures online of people doing crazy moves can cause someone to feel intimidated by yoga. But it doesn’t matter if you can bend like a pretzel or if you’re struggling to touch your knees – yoga is for everyone and that’s what we love about it. When practicing yoga there is only one rule: to listen to your body and do what you can according to your ability. Actually, one of the best things about yoga is that the community is so welcoming. It’s amazing! You’ll find out after your first yoga class that everyone is there to learn just like you. So, don’t be intimidated if someone is more advanced than you. Go up to them and ask them to help you and you’ll soon find yourself with a new friendship.
Why is yoga so important and beneficial for your health & wellbeing?
Yoga improves flexibility, builds muscle strength, and therefore, helps to lose weight. It helps you to maintain focus throughout the day and improves your sleep at night. But yoga is not just a form of exercise, it’s an all-encompassing lifestyle that transforms not only your body but also your mind. It provides you with inner strength, self-confidence and it can also reduce stress. Plus, a daily yoga practice boosts your metabolism – and who doesn’t love that?
How are diet and lifestyle integrated into yoga practice?
Not at all, and yet so much at the same time. There are no direct links between them, so anybody can practice yoga no matter what their plates are filled with, or how they live their lives. Still, through yoga, you become more aware, present, and mindful to what you say, think, and eat. Starting with small adjustments, yoga helps you get rid of unwanted habits and develop a healthy lifestyle.

What are some great nourishing options after a Yoga work-out?
If the yoga session was challenging, it’s always good to start your meal with some healthy carbs. What you eat really depends on your preferences or the time of day. For morning practices, a nice bowl of oats with fresh fruit on top is a great way to recharge the batteries.
Also, fresh fruits or smoothies are a good way to nourish your body with loads of vitamins and minerals. However, it can be difficult at times to grab something to eat when you’re busy with life. Thankfully there are more and more brands developing healthy vegan snacks as an easy to-go alternative. We are always so happy when we discover new snacks that help us with our busy schedule, and now we can even share these amazing companies with our members.
